The Correlation Between Symptoms In The Menopausal Period And Life Quality

Objective: The aim of this study is to determine the symptoms experienced by women in the menopausal period with the menopausal symptoms assessment scale and to determine its effect on the quality of life with the menopause-specific quality of life scale.
Methods: This cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted with menopausal women who applied to the Health Sciences University Şişli Hamidiye Etfal Training and Research Hospital Family Medicine Outpatient Clinic. 314 female participants participated in the study and a face-to-face survey was conducted with these participants.
Results: Type of family, presence of chronic diseases, the status of going to a gynecologist for control purposes, the way of perceiving menopause, how she evaluated her marriage, going to the doctor for menopausal complaints, where they got their relevant information, the state of getting treatment for menopause, their relationship with their partner after menopause, the menopause itself affecting and feeling pain in the body after menopause effect of all these parameters
Conclusion: According to our study results, the symptoms observed during the menopausal period affect the quality of life of women. Physicians should evaluate the factors known to be effective on symptoms in the menopausal period and produce personalized treatment programs.
