Evolution of family medicine specialty in legislations

A reflection of the health policy carried out in our country is the regulations on the field of medical specialization. The “general medicine” education has been given in the times when the main health policy was preventive measures and primary health care. In the periods of increase in hospital based care specialization in medicine has also increased. Family medicine education began in 1947 with the name of “general health specialization”. Except 20 years between 1962-1983 it was always sited in medical educational regulations.
