Abstract

Thinking abilities are fundamental abilities that make students active in participating, improve the sense of responsibility for their own learning, cause students to find and use searching methods. Planning and reflection have great influence on improving thinking abilities.

Planning is a choice that is made towards an aim. In reflection, memory is of foremost importance. Reflection expresses more intellectual improvement than memorizing information to be kept in the memory or actions that was finished. These abilities motivate children towards their interests and controlling their environment. Throughout the process of children’s planning and looking over their experiences, their estimation and analytical abilities develop. Teachers need to use a great deal of strategies for improving students’ reflection abilities.

This article emphasizes the importance of thinking abilities and planning by informing teachers about what they can do and what kind of strategies they can use for improving these abilities.
