Abstract

This study aims to investigate the differences between adolescent-mother and adolescent-father relationships. For this purpose an Adolescent-Mother Relationships Scale (AMRS) and an Adolescent- Father Relationships Scale (AFRS) were constructed. The results of factor analysis yielded 2 factors, which were affection and independence granting. AMRS and AFRS factor scores of 412 adolescents were subjected to (2) school type X 2 (grade level) X 2 (gender) ANOVA. Results yielded school type, grade level and gender differences in adolescent-mother and adolescent-father relationships.
